"The fleeting hour of life of those who love the hills is quickly spent, but the hills are eternal. Always there will be the lonely ridge, the dancing beck, the silent forest; always there will be the exhilaration of the summits."

So said Alfred Wainwright, fell-walker extraordinaire and champion of the Lakes. With mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, moors and waterfalls, the Lake District really does have it all. And Aira Force is one of the many gems in its marvellous crown.

If you walk through the woodland on the south-west shore of Ullswater, chances are you'll hear a thundering sound. But this isn't the sound of storm clouds or noisy car engines, it's the sound of Aira Force, a twenty metre waterfall cascading over the rocks. These falls are part of Aira Beck, a river that rises on the slopes of Stybarrow Dodd. Wordsworth called it a 'Wild stream', and he was certainly right about that!

This design shows Aira Force in all of its thundering glory: the white water thrashing down the steep-sided ravine, a stone bridge spanning the rocks above. On either side, green moss spreads on wet stones, and ferns unfurl their fronds in the conifer woodland. Any lover of the lakes is sure to adore this tea towel!

Half Panama organic bleached cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48cm x 70cm. Machine wash at 40 degrees max. We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes. Please note size can vary slightly.
