Harrogate Royal Pump Room Tea Towel

Located in the heart of God’s own county is a town best known for its beautiful buildings, luxurious gardens and, of course, the drinking of tea: Harrogate.

This tea towel shows off one of Harrogate’s unique historical landmarks, a building endowed with the same Victorian splendour seen elsewhere in the town. Completed in 1842, The Royal Pump Room provided a space where guests could drink sulphur water pumped from the spring below known as the Old Sulphur Well. The water, thought to have medicinal qualities, was so popular that the Pump Room became something of a social hub for Harrogate’s elites. One notable visitor, none other than the renowned author Charles Dickens, wrote in the visitors’ book that "Harrogate is the queerest place, with the strangest people in it, leading the oddest lives of dancing, newspaper-reading and dining."

A life filled by those things doesn’t sound too bad to us and is certainly worth celebrating with this stunning tea towel.
