Weaving together the many strands of its long and exciting history, modern Manchester is a rich tapestry of old and new, industrial and metropolitan. From Roman ruins to sky-scrapers, Gothic churches to 19th century mills - Manchester has it all.

Built in the early 1960s, Bernard House was once a popular landmark in the city centre. Though it was only 10 storeys, its unique Chinese-style roof with its four peaked-corners made it an iconic feature of the Manchester skyline. Sadly, by the 1990s many of the offices in Bernard House had been vacant for a number of years, and in 2001, demolition began.

This striking design showcases the unique roof of Bernard House seen from below. Looming over it is Sunley Tower, which still stands today and is now known as City Tower. It may be gone, but Bernard House was a real gem of 20th century urban architecture - this tea towel pays tribute to its memory.

Half Panama organic bleached cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48cm x 70cm. Machine wash at 40 degrees max. We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes. Please note size can vary slightly.
