'As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset, I am in Paradise.' So sang The Kinks in their famous 1967 single, making the sunsets on Waterloo Bridge a world-famous phenomenon. People come from all over the world to get a taste of the romance: the bridge spanning the huge width of the Thames, the evening light reflecting off the surface.

But The Kinks weren't the first artists to celebrate Waterloo. The French Impressionist Claude Monet did 41 paintings of Waterloo Bridge while he was living in London: sunsets, sunrises, misty mornings and cloudy evenings. The bridge may have been replaced since then, but the sun still sets with the same beautiful purple over London.

This design shows Waterloo Bridge from the east along the Thames. A gull darts and skims over the river, and the London Eye turns slowly in the distance. Go on: sprinkle a dash of Paradise in your kitchen!

Half Panama organic bleached cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48cm x 70cm. Machine wash at 40 degrees max. We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes. Please note size can vary slightly.
