The UK's first national park, the Peak District offers some of the most diverse landscapes in the country. From limestone gorges in steep valleys to open moors and gritstone edges, the Peaks really do have everything that a rambler could possibly wish for. It's no wonder so many great writers have been inspired by the landscapes here: William Wordsworth, Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë, to name just a few.
And of all the views in the Peak District, Cown Edge is one of the most impressive. At 411 metres high, with a prominence of 85 metres, Cown Edge is a dramatic gritstone ridge in north Derbyshire. From here, beyond the rolling fields, you can see the towers and skyscrapers of Manchester in the west, the city skyline hazy on the horizon.
This design showcases a classic English scene - a drystone wall in the foreground backed by fields and patches of woodland. And in the distance, Manchester, the industrial heart of the north. They say that one of the best things about Manchester is how close it is to the countryside, and this design really does show it! So why not brighten up your kitchen with this stunning tea towel - a reminder of how beautiful the natural world can be.
